HIV-1 Now cureable
Scientists have achieved a major breakthrough in HIV research by using CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing to completely remove HIV-1 DNA from human immune cells.
In lab tests, these edited cells not only became HIV-free but also resisted reinfection, offering a potential permanent cure unlike current suppressive treatments.
This development marks a crucial step towards eradicating HIV by targeting its genetic blueprint, addressing a significant challenge in the global fight against the virus.
